Make your phone easier to use

Adjust the screen, understand notifications and share a photo deliberately.

Adult working with a computer in an everyday setting

A phone should fit the way you read and move. You can start by changing a few settings instead of installing more apps. Make one adjustment at a time, then use the phone long enough to decide whether it helps.

Start with readability

Look for text size, display or accessibility settings. Increase the size one step and open a familiar message. Check whether buttons remain visible. Adjust the brightness to your surroundings rather than assuming the brightest setting is always best.

Reduce interruptions

A notification is information from an app, not an instruction you must follow immediately. Review which apps can send alerts. Keep useful reminders while reducing messages that interrupt your practice. Read the app name before opening an unfamiliar alert.

Check before sharing

Choose a photo that contains no private information. Use the sharing control and confirm the recipient before sending. Look at the background of the photo as well as its subject. Screenshots can include names or messages you did not intend to share.

Try this yourself

Take a photo of an everyday object and practise sending it to someone you know.

Check your understanding

Did you choose the right recipient, and can you find the photo again afterwards?
